— The earliest fossil evidence of life on Earth – the ancestors of the bacterium Sarcophagus marabunta – dates to this time.

— The Tyloban Empire reaches a technological milestone and, in a bid to escape increasing glaciation, constructs a fleet of habitable spacecraft and abandons the Earth.

9 MYA:
— During their travels across the Milky Way galaxy, the Tyloban Empire discovers the planet Kepler-22b and, finding it to support life, temporarily colonizes the planet. Before leaving Kepler-22b, the Tyloban Empire collects members of the planet’s fauna and raises them in captivity.

8 MYA:
— The modern Skrag species evolves, presumably in South America.

5 MYA:
— Seeking to find their civilization’s deities, the Skrag nation living in New Caledonia constructs spacecraft based on lost Tyloban technology and heads off into outer space. Where they go remains a mystery.

4 MYA:
— The Tyloban Empire comes across the Skrag space fleet and saves them from an unknown threat. The lesser race is indebted to them and later joins the Empire.

3 MYA:
— The Tyloban Empire visits the planet Mars and, finding it to support a rapidly decreasing variety of alien life, collects members of the planet’s fauna and raises them in captivity, saving them from extinction.

2.5 MYA:
— The Quaternary period begins.
— SuperGiant Organisms are relatively rare and/or inactive during this time.
— Genocyde captures and tames Masiakare in southern Patagonia.

2 MYA:
— The Tyloban Empire visits Jupiter’s moon Europa and, finding it to support a variety of alien life, collects members of the moon’s fauna and raises them in captivity.
— Ultrimasauros and Dikorus’ parents clash on multiple occasions, eventually leading to his defeat and their deaths. Orphaned, Dikorus is left to wander the Earth for hundreds of years.
— Therizon finds Dikorus and torments him regularly, eventually forcing Dikorus to fight back and defeat him. This defeat ignites a grudge that lasts for several thousand years.
— The latest resurgence of The Cycle comes to a close, forcing Dikorus, Therizon, Ultrimasauros, Diaborus, and many other active kaiju back into hibernation.

50,000 YA:
— Tylobite is crowned the Tyloban Emperor.

500 YA:
— The Tyloban Empire passes by the dwarf planet Pluto on its way back to Earth.

1908:
— June 30th, a Tyloban livestock-seeding vessel carrying preserved euxenosaur and euxenothere eggs crash-lands near the Podkamennaya Tunguska River in central Russia.

1910:
— The “American Hippo bill” is introduced by Louisiana Congressman Robert Broussard and later passed unanimously. A herd of fifty hippopotamuses were soon introduced into the swamps of Louisiana; their numbers have since grown to more than two thousand.

1914:
— July 28th, World War I officially begins.

1916:
— July 1st-12th, a wayward deinichthys attacks and kills several people along the New Jersey coastline, and was later misidentified as being a large shark; this was the first documented instance of a post-Cycle organism actively preying upon humans.

1917:
— The Russian Revolution occurs, resulting in the creation of the first communist state.

1918:
— November 11th, World War I is officially ended.

1929:
— October 29th, following the “Black Tuesday” stock market collapse, the Great Depression begins in the United States and later spreads worldwide.

1930:
— August 13th, a small Tyloban crop-seeding vessel crash-lands in the Llanos in northwestern Brazil; this particular vessel is believed to have been carrying xenoflora seeds and spores, which later spread worldwide.

1939:
— September 1st, World War II officially begins.

1944:
— June 6th, the Normandy landings – better known as “D-Day” – occur along the coast of Normandy, France.

1945:
— January 14th – February 22nd, the Battle of Ramree Island occurs off the coast of Myanmar.
— August 6th, the atomic bomb “Little Boy” is dropped into Hiroshima, Japan.
— August 9th, the atomic bomb “Fat Man” is dropped into Nagasaki, Japan.
— September 2nd, World War II is officially ended.
— October 24th, the United Nations (UN) is officially founded.

1947:
— The Cold War first begins, putting the United States and the Soviet Union in a state of political and military tension.

1948:
— Unknown time, J.A. Hunter hunts down and apparently kills the rogue elephant of Aberdare, Kenya. In reality, the elephant barely survives, manages to crawl into an atom bog, and begins its transformation into a kaiju – Indrike.

1950:
— Jun 25th, the Korean War officially begins, drawing attention from a number of world superpowers.

1952:
— The Hershey-Chase experiment confirms DNA’s role in heredity as a carrier of genetic information.

1953:
— July 27th, the Korean War officially ends in a cease-fire.
— James D. Watson and Francis Crick develop the double-helix model for DNA structure.

1954:
— March 3rd-7th, the first documented daikaiju attack occurs along the northeastern coast of Hokkaido, Japan; after meeting heavy military resistance, the creature was finally nuked by a US bomber, its rampage leaving a nearly 20-mile trail of devastation along the Hokkaido coastline.

1955:
— November 1st, the Vietnam War begins between North and South Vietnamese military forces, drawing attention from a number of world superpowers.

1958:
— Unknown time, the rogue elephant of Aberdare, Kenya has become a kaiju, later known as Indrike.

1959:
— Unknown date, Goro Ukusagami is born to Ainu parents.

1960:
— Goro Ukusagami is put up for adoption by his birth parents at the South Sapporo Orphanage.

1961:
— At age three, Goro Ukusagami is adopted by the Kurosawa family: Hiroshi and his wife Kumiko.
— October 30th, the Soviets detonate the “Tsar Bomba” hydrogen bomb, resulting in the most powerful manmade explosion in recorded history.

1969:
— February 26th, Ivory Coast founds the West African Republic with itself and the nations of Benin, Burkina Faso, Togo, and Senegal as its first member states.

1971:
— July 28th, the Tyloban Empire passes by the Martian moon of Deimos as it approaches Earth. The news of a potential alien invasion whips the general public into a months-long panic.

1973:
— March 2nd, the Tyloban Empire arrives on present-day Earth and begins to colonize parts of the Indo-Pacific. Fighting between the Empire and several nations in the area commences.

1974:
— April, the small island country of Mauritius falls victim to The Cycle. The majority of its residents soon evacuate to neighboring nations.

1975:
— April 30th, the Vietnam War is officially ended, its men and resources relocated to fight the ongoing Tyloban menace.
— May 5th, Guinea-Bissau joins the West African Republic.

1976:
— September 14th, the Tyloban Empire destroys the island nation of Kiribati via Grav Bunkers to claim its natural resources. Marshall Islands is taken in much the same way soon after.
— September 21st, Gambia and Sierra Leone both join the West African Republic.
— December 16th, a B-52 Superfortress bombs the Tyloban invasion force’s capital in New Guinea with three 20-kiloton nuclear bombs, destroying nearly half of it and killing eight Tylobans and at least several hundred Skrag.

1977:
— February 13th, the Tyloban Empire retaliates by dropping a Glasscaster on top of East Timor, completely annihilating the island nation.
— March 9th, the Tyloban Empire attempts to harvest the island nation of Nauru for its mineral resources, but a nuclear bombing run destroys it first and denies them the resources.
— August 5th, the Tyloban Empire’s tactics switch from offense to defense practically overnight, leading to an uneasy stalemate.
— October 23rd, the last known conflict in the Human-Tyloban War occurs.
— Unknown time, Yuri Kliment and many other people are lured into atom bogs worldwide. The mysterious entity behind it turns out to be Diaborus.

1978:
— May 22nd, US President Jimmy Carter signs the SGOC Directive into action, officially forming the SuperGiant Organism Corps in response to the events of the Human-Tyloban War.
— Construction on the Green Wall of China is first started.
— Unknown time, at the command of Diaborus, Yuri Kliment and at many other people emerge from Siberian atom bogs as monstrous creatures later known as myrmidons. They make up Diaborus’ loyal followers – the Horned Horde – and are instrumental in his coming plans.

1979:
— September 22nd, a Tyloban livestock-seeding vessel crash-lands over the southern Atlantic Ocean, an event that would later become known as the Vela Incident; this particular vessel is believed to have been carrying preserved xenichthyoid eggs and fry.
— Unknown time, the Horned Horde attacks an unnamed village in northern Siberia, abducting its residents to forcibly turn them into myrmidons. This process is repeated countless more times, growing Diaborus’ inhuman armies.

1981:
— June 2nd, Ghana joins the West African Republic.

1983:
— January 5th, Goro Ukusagami inherits Sunset Research Solutions from his father, Hiroshi Kurosawa, and reinvents it as Sunset Blade. He hires several PMCs soon after as kaiju-hunters.
— April 12th, Guinea joins the West African Republic.
— October, the European nation of Romania falls victim to The Cycle, making it the last of central Europe’s surviving countries to collapse. A bounty is put on the head of native kaiju Thambemus by Poland shortly afterward.
— November, the African nation of Burundi falls victim to The Cycle, a mere 21 years after gaining its independence. The majority of its residents soon evacuate to neighboring nations.

1984:
— June 24th, Ultrimasauros is captured and enslaved by Sunset Blade on Wrangel Island.
— December 2nd – December 3rd, toxic chemicals are accidentally released from a pesticide plant in India, causing the worst industrial disaster in human history.

1985:
— March 2nd, Dikorus is accidentally discovered by the SGOC in the remote Alaskan wilderness. The SGOC later adopts him as a Defender, making Dikorus the first kaiju in history to ally with humans.
— Unknown time, Sunset Blade goes to Patagonia to find Genocyde, initially aiming to enslave him but later working out a mutual agreement.

1986:
— April 26th, the Chernobyl Disaster occurs in northern Ukraine, spurring the formation of several new atom bogs in the region. Redwood begins to form at this time.
— August 21st, Lake Nyos in Cameroon undergoes a limnic eruption, killing thousands of people and livestock with deadly carbon dioxide gas.

1988:
— August, the mutilated corpse of a pythornis washes up on the coast of Svalbard, bearing Pensularah’s characteristic tooth marks in its flesh.

1989:
— April 7th, Pensularah attacks and destroys the Russian nuclear submarine K-278 Komsomolets just off the coast of old Norway.

1990:
— January 7th, Krazoth is captured by Sunset Blade forces in the Sonian Forest, Belgium. The kaiju-hunting PMC Blue Phoenix is hired as a result of Krazoth’s capture.
— Unknown time, Goro Ukusagami acquires a plot of land in Hong Kong and establishes Sunset Blade’s headquarters there.
— Unknown time, Goro Ukusagami acquires the land rights to the Kerguelen Islands and establishes a base of operations there for Sunset Blade.

1991:
— With the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the Cold War is officially ended.
— October, Physeter is discovered living in the deep seas around Kerguelen Island, Sunset Blade’s base of operations. A plan is enacted to make use of the monster’s territorial nature.

1992:
— January 11th, Razorr first appears, fighting and killing a geoduck SGO on the southeastern coast of Greenland.
— February 12th, the European island nation of Crimea declares itself as a sovereign state.

1993:
— June, Thambemus is captured by Sunset Blade forces in the forested ruins of Romania.
— September 24th, while staying in the Sudd, a massive swamp in what would later become South Sudan, Saurocyde is approached by Sunset Blade, who initially aimed to enslave him but later works out a mutual agreement.

1994:
— January 18th, a small Tyloban ore-seeding vessel crash-lands near the village of Cando in northwestern Spain; this particular vessel is believed to have been carrying solore fragments.
— October 3rd, Liberia joins the West African Republic.

1995:
— May 23rd, Dastruction breaks NLD control and appears off the southeastern coast of Oahu Island, Hawaii, engaging an airborne SGOC task force in combat; the battle ends with Dastruction being buried in a rockslide and later escaping back into the sea.

1996:
— February 12th, Goro Ukusagami reads about reports of a “catfish monster” – Iranitith – rampaging along the Kali River of India and Nepal, and makes plans for Sunset Blade to capture and enslave it.
— April, Nalhest is captured by Sunset Blade in the jungles of former Cambodia.

1997:
— February 4th, Sunset Blade encounters and kills four giant snakehead kaiju in the remote jungles of Thailand; the fifth – Frankenfish – is left alive, enslaved, and eventually befriends Iranitith.

1998:
— June, Rioja first appears in the Brazilian rainforests, fighting other SGOs and inadvertently saving several indigenous tribes.
— September, the Swamp Monsters – Agron, Alligar, Chelydra, and Crotalus – use Hurricane Georges as cover and rampage all across the southeastern United States, leveling Baton Rouge and enlarging the borders of their Fire Swamp domain.
— December, Lanthyota first appears in Malaysia, battling a flock of beelzebirds that had been attacking airplanes in the country’s airspace.

2000:
— January 1st, the Y2K Phenomenon passes without issue.
— October 21st, Therizon heads for the coast of Los Angeles, California, is confronted by the SGOC, fights Dikorus, and is eventually forced back out to sea.
— Unknown time, Scyllorah and Charypterus both escape from Lake Vostok, Antarctica and head for the Pacific Ocean.

2002:
— March 3rd, Swaziland becomes an autonomous republic of South Africa in order to ensure its security against The Cycle.
— May 23rd, Lesotho becomes an autonomous republic of South Africa in order to ensure its security against The Cycle.
— Unknown time, while in Brazil Goro Ukusagami inquires with famous angler Jeremy Wade about a mystery kaiju in the region – Pirzak.

2005:
— Unknown time, a rahab is reported living near the Arctic Circle, expanding the creature’s known habitat range on Earth.

2006:
— March 16th, Kardazilla awakens from hibernating in an atom bog somewhere in North America.

2007:
— September 15th – 16th, the “Big Bay Brawl” occurs in Sydney, Australia. This event accidentally wakes Estranthus from his dormancy, and he escapes unnoticed into the Pacific Ocean. Sydney is later declared a Disaster Area by the Australian government.
— December 16th, Estranthus makes landfall on Lord Howe Island and claims it as his territory. The island’s surviving residents abandon it shortly afterward.

2008:
— May 2nd – 21nd, Chile’s Chaitén volcano erupts, leaving behind a very large lava dome.
— September 1st – 7th, the International GMO Convention (IGMOC) is held in Hong Kong.
— September 3rd, a Chinese triad – led by the enigmatic Mr. Sung – attempts to destroy Sunset Blade and assassinate Goro Ukusagami in Hong Kong, and fails; their three militarized SGOs are killed by The Pack during a confrontation in the South China Sea. Goro takes advantage of this and spins it as a publicity stunt.

2009:
— April 10th – 24th, Hang Sơn Đoòng, the largest cave on Earth’s surface, is rediscovered and explored in northern Vietnam.
— June 23rd, Mao Shen Tung, having awakened from the Sơn Đoòng cave, attacks, destroys, and partially eats the capital city of Hanoi, Vietnam.

2010:
— January 12th, a massive 7.0-magnitude earthquake devastates the island nation of Haiti.
— September 1st – 7th, the International GMO Convention (IGMOC) is held in Beijing, China.
— Construction on the Trans-African Railway begins.

2011:
— April 15th, following the events of the “Big Bay Brawl” in 2007, the rebuilt remains of Sydney, Australia are rechristened as New Sydney.

2012:
— September 1st – 7th, the International GMO Convention (IGMOC) is held in Philadelphia, PA.
— December 21st, the 2012 Phenomenon passes without issue.

2013:
— February 15th, a 60-foot meteor enters Earth’s atmosphere and explodes over western Russia; the Tylobans claim they had nothing to do with it.
— May 24th, an 8.2-magnitude earthquake occurs in easternmost Russia.
— September 5th, Tamu Massif – an extinct shield volcano off the eastern coast of Japan – is announced as being the largest single volcano on Earth.

2014:
— March 24th, a kaiju makes landfall on the northern Oregon coast, heads inland, and destroys the city of Beaverton. More than two-thirds of the city is declared dead or missing, including Lee Weise, who heads south for his grandmother’s home in Arcata, California.
— September 1st – 7th, the International GMO Convention (IGMOC) is held in Frankfurt, Germany.

2015:
— June 4th, at last Diaborus announces his presence to the world, sending forth his children and kicking off a massive revolt by NLD-enslaved kaiju, resulting in worldwide chaos as escaped kaiju rampage and attack major population centers.
— July 17th, Sunset Blade escapees Ultrimasauros and Hammerkrok fight to the death in the middle of Johannesburg, South Africa, destroying the city and ending in Ultrimasauros’ victory.
— July 23rd, the Kirby Defense Enterprises PMC airdrops into London to capture or kill the crimelord-turned-Horde-goliath Curtis Elliot Hawkins.
— August, the Tyloban Empire sends in Skrag forces to fight on their behalf in the myrmidon stronghold that is now Hong Kong, while the Tylobans themselves defend their people’s capital from rampaging kaiju.
— August 5th, roving entrepreneur Gerard Haywood and his ship Jasconius head into New York Harbor and fight Sunset Blade escapees Frankenfish and Iranitith, killing the former and helping the SGOC drive the latter out to sea.
— September 10th, three months after the Titanomachy began, Diaborus arrives at Hong Kong and finds it to be a warzone where human, myrmidon, and Skrag forces are all fighting for control. He soon asserts control over the city by fighting off the SGOC forces present.
— September 12th, having allied with Diaborus, the kaiju Indrike slays the Defender kaiju Greyking in Bangalore and then heads for Hong Kong.
— September 14th, Indrike is detoured in Mumbai as the Tyloban Empire’s greatest champions – Cyberanha and Phoboris – come to stop him from reaching Hong Kong. Indrike is defeated, and Phoboris is sent back to the Tyloban capital, while Cyberanha heads east to Hong Kong.
— September 16th, still alive but barely, Indrike escapes Mumbai and heads into the Arabian Sea.
— September 17th, Sunset Blade escapee Krazoth attacks Seattle; Dikorus arrives to deal with and eventually kill Krazoth, then heads out to sea for Hong Kong.
— September 18th, Sunset Blade escapees Saurocyde and Nalhest arrive in Hong Kong and begin hunting for Goro Ukusagami, attacking Sunset Blade HQ to get him. Dikorus arrives and fights a losing battle with Diaborus, who joins his two allies in hunting Goro.
— September 18th, on orders from Emperor Tylobite, Cyberanha enters Hong Kong and fights Diaborus, only to be overwhelmed by myrmidons; later Dikorus recovers and takes over, fighting Diaborus a second time. Cyberanha then calls in a Glasscaster to wipe out Diaborus and the Horned Horde.
— September 18th, Genocyde shows up from tailing Saurocyde and Nalhest and fights them to protect what remains of Sunset Blade, killing Saurocyde and forcing Nalhest to flee.
— September 19th, the Tyloban ship arrives over Hong Kong, preparing to drop a Glasscaster; Dikorus and Diaborus are both killed, and fearing a Tyloban invasion the Chinese military attacks the ship, damaging it and driving it out of their territory, where it crashes into Russia.
— September 24th, the survivors of the Titanomachy come out of hiding and start to rebuild.
— Unknown time, several weeks after the end of the Titanomachy, the nation of Sri Lanka collapses as the contents of a Tyloban escape pod – a collection of virulent alien plants – escapes, overrunning the island and forcing its inhabitants to flee to India and Thailand.
— Unknown time, several weeks after the end of the Titanomachy, Yuri Kliment makes it back to the Siberian atom bog that first made him into a myrmidon, then submerges himself in it, following a plan unknown to any but him.
